2009 Silver Eddie Award
Marie Claire Magazine Article Wins Folio Magazine’s 2009 Silver Eddie Award

“The Eddie and Ozzie awards recognize excellence in magazine and online editorial and design. In 2009, the awards drew more than 2,000 entries. That volume reveals two things: Our awards draw, by far, the widest variety of publication types—from b-to-b to consumer to association and custom—and our industry is particularly proud of its creative output.” ~ Folio Magazine, “The 2009 Eddie and Ozzie Award Winners”, 12/01/2009
Jennifer S. Wilkov’s personal essay about her story of “Life Behind Bars” appeared in Marie Claire Magazine’s April 2009 issue.
The article highlights Jennifer’s nightmare experience of being sentenced to Rikers Island, one of New York’s most violent prisons, for a crime she didn’t commit.
The story reveals her shock at how this could have happened due to poor representation by the same attorneys used by Martha Stewart and how she took a devastating situation and turned into something good that could change lives and benefit the world.
The exclusive story was provided to Marie Claire by Jennifer S. Wilkov and was received and edited by Abigail Pesta, editor at Marie Claire.
The 2009 Silver Eddie Award for Single Article in a Consumer Fashion/Lifestyle magazine was presented to Marie Claire for the article in December.
